I’ll start with a quick recap of the Paul and Silas story.
Paul and Silas share the teachings of Jesus Christ, and by doing so they get tossed into jail.
A Roman jailer is put in charge of them.
The jailer gets sleepy and takes a rest.
This brings us to today’s topic of Paul and Silas singing in prison. To the faithful pair, even in jail they felt God was deserving of songs of praise.
And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. (Acts 16: 25)
I think this is meaningful to people of every generation. Most people can probably look at themselves when they feel like complaining and realize they still have so much to be thankful to God for.
Now please remember, if you read the BibleRhymes books, the story is much more fun and will stick in your brain much better! Tomorrow I’ll continue with Paul’s story and hopefully be ready with another illustration to share.
Until then, start the morning with a little song of your own. See if you look as good as Apostle Paul and Silas singing!
