On this dark and quiet morning,
Thoughts of mine are deep;
As I send prayers for all awake,
And all who are asleep.
The Lord’s Prayer
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. (10) Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. (11) Give us this day our daily bread. (12) And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. (13) And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. (Matthew 6: 9-13)
For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. (1 Peter 3: 12)
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; (11) Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord. (12) Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; (Romans 12: 10-12 – KJV)
Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. (11) Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. (12) Rejoice in our confidant hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. (Romans 12: 10-12)
The following verses are advice to the powerful:
Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven. (2) Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving. (Colossians 4: 1-2)
Don’t forget to say your prayers when you go to bed. Or wake up. Or anytime at all. The Lord is only a, “Hello!” away.
