Keeping It Real

When keeping it real
And honestly speaking,
And using an accent
So interest is piquing,
Without any shrieking
To silence critiquing,
A witty debater
Takes verbal command.

Keeping it Real: Got it Backwards

The thing about Joe—
He doesn’t talk straight.
When he says, “Early.”
He really means late.
He says that he’s short,
And he’s seven-foot three.
He says that he’s hungry
When full as can be.
So I had to ask Joe,
What was the deal?
He shrugged, and he said,
“I’m keeping it real.”
