Sleep—it’s not easy for everyone to get, but some things help make it a little easier for people to rest well.
I promise two things
Will help you feel best:
A guilt-free conscience,
And plenty of rest.
- In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety. (Psalms 4: 8)
- And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest awhile.” For many were coming and going and they had no leisure even to eat. (Mark 6: 31)
- My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgement and discretion. (22) they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck. (23) Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble. (24) When you lie down you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. (Proverbs 3: 21-24)
Don’t Sleep Too Sweetly (Rhyme)
I once fell asleep for half of a day.
And I had missed work while dreaming away.
I dreamt I’d been playing guitar for a crowd.
Then I woke up and didn’t feel proud.
Resting or Lazy?
How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? (Proverbs 6: 9)
