Camp Friends

This story’s for a special girl
Who met my friend at camp.
It seems this girl is like some glue
Or one big, sticky stamp.
She’s clamped herself so tightly
And latched on my friend’s heart.
My friend had gone to camp to help
But that was just a part…
A kinship started blossoming
For this unlikely pair.
They don’t live close but that’s okay
Since love flies through the air.
Now they share a special bond
Of love and good advice.
They text to gossip, say, “Hello.”
Or, “Hey, the day was nice.”
Yet, the price of distance
Is sometimes friends aren’t there.
But so you know, dear birthday girl;
My friend, she really cares.

Dedicated to Rachel…
