Birds Are Chirping

Birds are chirping, so am I,
With hopes to brighten your day.

Before the sunrise, here’s a surprise
Still I’m just typing away.

Why do I do it—typing all night
Forgetting my sleep and my bed?

The messages sent, the notes and such,
Always show up in my head.

So I’ll blame you, and thank you as well
For not allowing my rest.

Because I’m not sleeping, I’m living a dream
To me, it seems like the best.

I suppose some people don’t mind to hear a chirp, chirp, chirp for an alarm clock. I prefer birds that say hello when they hear you pick up the phone, or ones that join in with the group when “Happy Birthday” is being sung. We all have our preferences. What kind of bird is your favorite?
