This picture is a rough-draft from a kids’ Bible book. The picture was part the development of BibleRhymes’ David and Goliath.
King Saul didn’t think David could beat Goliath, the Philistine. David assured him.
David said moreover, The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the Lord be with thee. 1 Samuel 17: 37 (KJV)
Saul was of the Tribe of Benjamin. After being anointed by the Prophet Samuel, Saul (son of Kish) became the first king when the tribes of Israel were united into a kingdom.
Samuel also said unto Saul, The Lord sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the Lord. (1 Samuel 15: 1)
And there was sore war against the Philistines all the days of Saul: and when Saul saw any strong man, or any valiant man, he took him unto him. (1 Samuel 14: 52)
