My Rock (Unedited)

I have a rock which changes shapes

And made all things from air to grapes

The fuzzy apes, He made them too

My rock made me and He made you

It’s true my rock has got my back

My fortitude when I’m attacked

He never slacks; my rock won’t hide

When I need help He’s at my side

Abide in me and calm my seas

My rock, I’m asking pretty please?

I’ll bend my knees and ask it twice

My rock I just need your advice

For me the nicest thing of all

Is that my rock won’t let me fall

He’s called my Rock, my Savior too

The Prince of Peace my faith’s in you

I grew up hearing of the Lord

The stories always struck a chord

When lions roared, Daniel prayed

Goliath bellowed; then he paid

It made me think; it made me look

It made me open up a book

I took the time and read a lot

Then marked the page, my stopping spot

When I got time I read some more

Without a clue of things in store

God poured His love all over me

Loosed my chains and set me free

He gave me courage; I grew bold

My faith in Him, it took ahold

Then I was sold, I found my King

My rock’s my life, my everything

He brings me joy and points the way

My rock’s my strength in every day

I’ll say it once and then repeat

I love my rock, my holy treat
